Hapkido Grading Summary - April 23rd, 2026
The first Hapkido grading of 2026 occurred on April 23rd, marking a significant milestone in the journey of each martial artist.
Over the past two years, Hapkido has not been a primary focus at KFMA, making this the second grading within that timeframe. Consequently, the grading presented challenges for all students, as they faced uncertainties regarding expectations and performance standards. Despite these challenges, each student demonstrated commendable composure and skill under pressure, although there are identified areas for improvement ahead of the next grading.
In our classes, the time allocated for learning the syllabus and techniques is limited. Mastery of these techniques necessitates dedicated practice outside of class sessions. It is essential for students to engage in consistent training to enhance their proficiency and readiness for future assessments.
In summary, I was pleased with the outcomes of the grading. Each student received personalised feedback highlighting specific areas for improvement, which will be instrumental in their preparation for the next Hapkido grading.
