Again KFMA brought home 5 gold medals from 5 players! 100% Gold!

On the 22nd June 2025, Team KFMA headed to the Caboolture Open at Morayfield. This year marked the 20 year anniversary of this event, and this was Team KFMA's second competition, so expectations were very high.
The KFMA team consisted of students who had competed before and one competitor who returns to the mats after a 2-year break. We had 5 players enter individual poomsae events with only 2 weeks preparation due to my trip to Korea and Japan. We did not have sparring players at this event due to me being overseas which impacted the competition training schedule.
Whilst I was away, competing students were set the task to train at home. Prior to going away I provided specific and feedback to competing students to help them improve. When I returned, we refined the patterns even further.
Scoring at this event was much tougher than the Gold Coast Open, but Team KFMA still brought home Gold Medals for each event.
Players results are:
Brooke - Gold
Elizabeth - Gold
Dani - Gold
Aria - Gold
Alexanda - Gold
Even though this was not the first competition for all my students, it can still be a daunting task. By stepping out of their comfort zones and entering the Caboolture Open, not only do students commit to extra training and take on the additional pressure, but they also build their skills and resilience- these are things that can translate into everyday life outside of taekwondo.
Brooke's competitor was another female one belt rank higher. She did not let this deter her, again performing well on the mats to bring home the gold.
Elizabeth hasn't competed for a couple of years and was very nervous leading up to her event. Once she stepped onto the mats, Elizabeth was in the zone and performed her poomsae very well.
Dani's second event this year proved to be another winner. Dani showed that she had put in extra training and performed her patterns well.
Aria was also nervous today and on the mats she stalled a little. She did however still bring home a gold medal!
Alexanda was still our youngest player, and he again performed extremely well under pressure.
It was pleasing to see the level of skill and etiquette my students displayed at this event. As with the Gold Coast Open, you all stood out- in the best way possible. Thank you, Team KFMA, for the extra effort and making me proud.
Next year we are taking a bigger team to the Gold Coast Open and Caboolture Open, so watch this space!
